The importance of the Kua or Gua number

Kua or the Gua number is important. The reason being that it indicates to you what are your auspicious directions and what directions are not good for you.

Feng Shui is about the compatibility between your surroundings, you and the timing.

The Kua number enables you to determine your 4 auspicious directions, which are success, personal development, health and romance directions. The Kua number could also determine your inauspicious or unlucky directions, which could bring bad luck, poor health, accidents and mishaps and total loss to you.

By knowing your Kua number you can align yourself in a positive manner with your surrounding. This will enable you to enhance your electromagnetic field in a much more positive manner. Thus you will pull people towards you. Thus giving your self a chance to avail good opportunities.

There by you will attract positive chi.

Your Kua number will tell you whether you are in harmony with your home and your surroundings. It is useful in looking for an auspicious new home, choosing appropriate rooms, rearranging your existing home, moving to a new country or even changing of place in the office or working space etc.

To calculate your Kua [Gua] Number manually use the below calculation

To calculate your Gua number we use the Chinese lunar calendar. (For those born before the 6th or 7th February you must go back a year i.e. if you were born on the 6th February, 1959 you would calculate your Gua number using the year 1958. For females to calculate their Gua number, add the last two digits of the year of your birth and then add 5 this is your Gua number.

Example

If your date of birth is 10 June 1960
Add the last two digits of your date of birth together (6+0=6) then add this to 5 (6+5=11) to arrive at a single number add the 11 together (1+1=2) Your Gua number is 2

For males to calculate their Gua number, add the last two digits of the year of your birth and then subtract it from 10 this is your Gua number.

Example

If your date of birth is 10 June 1960
Add the last two digits of your date of birth together. (6+0=6) then subtract from 10 (10-6=4) Your Gua number is 4

Feng Shui is working all the time.

Feng Shui is not a religion or a belief system. It is nothing to do with any particular legacy. It is in existence even while we are doing absolutely nothing about it. Just like you don’t have to go on top of a mountain and jump down to understand gravity, Feng Shui exist all around us.

Chi

Chi, or the energy an object, person or place has, is very important in Feng Shui . Since Chi relates to whatever is in a space, the flow of Chi is unique to every home and space. You will need to look carefully and thoroughly around your own house to assess where Chi is flowing freely and where it needs to be helped out a little (or a lot!).

Chi can be broken up into several components. The two main categories are: (1) Yin and Yang, and (2) the Five Elements. Feng Shui utilizes the concepts of Yin and Yang and the Five Elements to help rebalance the competing energies in your home. Yin and yang is representative of the opposite forces. As for the second category of Chi energy, five elements in Feng Shui are: water, wood, fire, metal, and earth. Like people, each element has its own unique personality that either enables it to “get along with” the other elements, or to “fight against” the other elements if the balance is not right.

Bring in the colour

One of the easy ways in which you can get your life moving by using Feng Shui is to bring the energy of specific colors in order to achieve the results you want. Color is very powerful, as it is light, and many spaces are starved for light. This is one of the ways in which you can start with very basic and elementary Feng Shui.

Below is the color correspondence of each of the five Feng Shui elements:
